hey guys!
i just posted a photo of my spiced apple pie cupcakes and i thought i'd share the recipe with you guys! this particular recipe makes 12.

INGREDIENTS!
(for the cake)

• 50g softened unsalted butter
• 70g demerara sugar
• 1 lightly beaten egg
• 150g plain flour
• 1/2 teaspoon ground mixed spice
• 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 large peeled cooking apple, cored and finely chopped
• 1 tablespoon orange juice

(for the topping)

• 40g plain flour
• 1/2 teaspoon ground mixed spice
• 40g caster sugar
• 25g unsalted butter

METHOD!

1. preheat the oven to 180oC/350oF/gas mark 4 and put 12 paper cases in a muffin tin.
2. to make the topping, place the flour, mixed spice and caster sugar into a bowl. add the butter and rub in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles bread crumbs. set this aside.
3. cream together the butter and demerara sugar until pale and fluffy. gradually beat in the egg. sift in the flour, baking powder and mixed spice and fold into the mixture, then fold in the apple chunks and the orange juice. 
4. spoon the mixture into the paper cases. sprinkle over the topping onto the cupcakes and press down gently.
5. bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. leave the cupcakes in the tin for 5 minutes, then serve warm or transfer to a wire rack and leave to cool.

DIY Lip Scrub!

Hey guys!
Today i'm going to be showing you how to make one of my must-have fall/winter lip products..
**LIP SCRUBS!!**

There are many lip scrubs out there on the market, however they are normally pretty pricey, such as the one from lush.. coming in at a hefty £5.25 per pot. 

As nice as these ARE, i'm going to show you how you can quickly and easily make your own little lip scrub, using ordinary items that you can find lying around your house!

*DISCLAIMER* this is how I make my own lip scrubs, i'm not saying everyone else's way is wrong i'm just saying this is how i make mine :) 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• an empty bowl to mix everything in (or you can use it in your pot but for the sake of not being messy i recommend using a small bowl) 
• a small, empty pot (this can actually be any size you want, as long as it's clean and depending on how much you want to make)
• Vaseline or patrolium jelly - i used a large 100ml tub that i got from my local supermarket)
• sugar - i used demerara sugar but you can use any sugar you want
• honey - i used plain squeezy honey
• something to mix it with (such as a lollypop stick or the end of a spoon)

METHOD!

1. okay so first off you're going to want to take your bowl, and place about half a table spoon of Vaseline or patrolium jelly into the bowl.
2. add half a table spoon of honey and mix together. REMEMBER, this is a lip SCRUB, so you need twice as much sugar as you do Vaseline and honey.
3. taking a table spoon of the sugar of your choice, add to the bowl and use your lolly pop stick to mix it all up!
4. make sure to mix it all REALLY well together!
5. if you're not happy with the consistency of your lip scrub, add more sugar/honey/Vaseline according to your preference.
6. once you're happy with your lip scrub, take a spoon and transfer your lip scrub from the bowl to the container of your choice!

and that is it! very simple, very easy and PERFECT for the upcoming winter months!
